Stop by the Skating Center's concessions hut to participate in a fundraiser for one of our charitable partners, the Special Olympics of Rhode Island. Throughout the entire 2011-2012 skating season, you can donate $1.00 to this vital organization and have your name posted on the "I Donated" board - 100% of all donations will be donated to Special Olympics Rhode Island.

The Special Olympics Rhode Island program is one of the world’s most dynamic, providing over 1,400 year-round sports training and athletic competitions for more than 2,700 athletes and hosting over 40 local, regional, and statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 25 official and demonstration sports.

Donate a pint of blood The RI Blood Center collected 11 pints of blood, enough to help over 30 patients! The RIBC was founded 30 years ago to provide a safe, adequate and cost-effective blood supply for the patients and hospitals they serve. Each and every donor makes a difference, because just one pint of blood has the power to save up to three lives. Please give the gift of life--give blood. Visit RIBC.org for more information and to learn what you can do to help this important cause.

The day also featured kids activities from 11am to 3pm, free sponsor sampling courtesy of Dunkin Donuts, and a free hot cocoa for every skater!

Meghan Lamarre, Director of the Island Skating Academy, was out on the ice giving skating tips!
